Having been inspired by the work of Michelangelo, Van Dyck, Velazquez and John Singer Sergent to name but a few Lucinda found herself wanting to learn the techniques used behind the works of these wonderful artists.

Having done a foundation year at UCL, in History of Art, followed by a foundation course at Salisbury College Lucinda knew she wanted to take her studies further.

Lucinda went to Florence, Italy to study. It was there that she began to appreciate the importance of classical realism, focussing on the naturalistic tradition of drawing and painting. She learned that to capture an image is simply the start of the process of creation and that design, mood and emotion attain greater significance as the project evolves. There are so many things to think about when trying to capture a person on canvas: the aim is to try and maintain a balance in composition, while attempting to capture the essence of the sitter or the landscape before you.

For a price list or if you are interested in commissioning a picture, or would like to enquire about any of the images on the site, please email Lucinda by clicking here or call her on 0779 669 4631.

Lucinda is based in London and takes commissions for dog portraits, horse portraits, children and adult portraits, landscapes in charcoals, pencil, sanguin and oils. I love painting animals of all kinds so any pet you have just let me know. Pet portraits are a great way to give a gift and you can be assured this will be to a high standard. Having done a foundation year at UCL, in History of Art, I decided to take it further with a foundation course at Salisbury College. I then stuided for 3 years in Florence at the world renowed Charles Cecil Studios, where I learned to draw, paint and sculpt.
